PRIVATE TRANSPORTATION

For maximum convenience, Andean Colors can arrange the transportation for your visit.

We can send a driver to pick you up from your hotel in cities within 50 miles (80 km) of our location. These include Cusco, Pisac, Urubamba, and Ollantaytambo, among others.

Following your visit, the driver can take you back to your hotel or to the next location on your itinerary.

Prices are based on distance of travel and level of service you request.

Choose from two levels of transportation:

Standard
This service includes transportation with a local taxi service that has been vetted and includes insurance protection for non-residents (an amenity not guaranteed within city limits). These vehicles are very affordable, but they may have limited legroom and accommodate a minimal amount of luggage.

Luxury
This service includes transportation with one of our partner drivers in a larger, more comfortable vehicle with ample space for luggage. Guests will be provided with water and snacks during the trip, making longer commutes much more relaxing.

Our business was started with a mission to support single Peruvian mothers who have experienced great adversity in their lives and are now using their textile skills to support their families. Your visit to Andean Colors and any purchases you make in our boutique will benefit these women directly, helping them to improve their quality of life and increasing the possibilities of success for their families.

Yes, we are open to the public every day of the year.

If you have a reservation for an outdoor activity and it rains on that day, we can offer an indoor alternative or help you reschedule your visit.

We recommend casual clothing and comfortable, closed-toe shoes—especially if you will be participating in some of our outdoor activities. Adventure sometimes involves a little dust and dirt, especially when llamas and alpacas are part of the experience.

All year round, sun protection is essential because of the high UV index in the Andes. The direct sun can feel intense, but it can also get quite cold in the shade. Yes, that means it is likely to be hotter and colder than you might expect. Dressing in layers is the best way to be prepared.

During the rainy season (November through April), we recommend bringing a raincoat, rain boots, and a hat. You may also want to have an extra set of clothes on hand in case you do get wet and want to change before a meal or indoor activity.

We can happily accommodate most diet restrictions. Please let us know about your needs when you make your reservation or at least 48 hours in advance.

We encourage our guests to bring bottled water with them, especially if they are participating in a nature walk or hike. We do have bottled drinks (soda/water) available for purchase at our facility, but keep in mind that some tour packages begin at a different location.

If your selected experience includes lunch, you will be treated to a favorite Andean drink called chicha morada—a refreshing punch created with native purple corn, sweet fruit, and delicate spices.

No problem! You’ll have an English-speaking guide during your visit to Andean Colors.

Some people may experience symptoms if they have just arrived in Peru. We are prepared at our facility with some simple remedies to help you hydrate and ease any minor discomfort you might have. We can also give you directions to a nearby pharmacy if you need to purchase medications.
